Trips we have arranged as a group have included

Clun Youth Hostel
"Clun / The quietest place under the sun" as the poet A E Housman would have it.  Well perhaps not on the Monday we visited!  Having looked round the lovely Stokesay Castle, we arrived at Clun Youth Hostel for an evening meal cooked by one of our members.  After we'd got all the children in bed, the 6 mothers were able to relax in the very pleasant and, yes, quiet, gardens.
The following day we imagined ourselves back to the days of Offa as we looked for his dyke near Knighton, waded in the river Teme there and enjoyed fresh air, sunshine and friendships.

Street Youth Hostel
The Iron Age village, the fairly remote Street Youth Hostel with it's view of Glastonbury Tor, the most amazing sunset.  These are my memories of day one of our trip into Somerset.  The next day we visited Glastonbury itself.  Some climbed the tor and admired the view before heading back home to Bristol.

Forest of Dean
3 families were the "advance party" last year sussing out the Christchurch Forestry Commission campsite.  Their reports were so positive, there are 12 families going this year - including 2 new babies...
